Stefan Diez was born in 1971 in Freising. After completing training in architecture and carpentry, he went to India for a year, where he designed and built furniture for a company in Mumbai and Poona.

Back in Germany, he studied industrial design at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart from 1996 to 2002. In 1998, he worked as an assistant to Richard Sapper, after which, as mentioned above, he worked for Konstantin Grcic in Munich until 2002.

In January 2003, he became self-employed, opening his own design studio, also in Munich. Since then he has been developing furniture, tableware, bags and exhibition designs, among other things.

Diez works intensively with materials and passionately fathoms out their limitations. In the process,

he develops products that are minimalist in their formal language and that always have fresh charm. Above all, though, they always meet human needs.

Clients include Rosenthal AG, Authentics, Wilkhahn, Elmar Flötotto, the Nymphenburg Porcelain Factory, Schönbuch, Thonet, Flora ...
